Vibeke Sorensen: Reconstructed Thoughts
This installation includes MindShipMind, a computer based work inspired by interdisciplinary activities of the "MindShip," an international art-science research institute originally based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Created in collaboration with Austrian composer K@rlheinz Essl, it integrates original and found text, music, images and animation from participants of a 3 week seminar entitled "Order, Complexity, and Beauty," including neo-Platonist mathematicians and philosophers, neo-Darwinist biologists, complexity theorists, quantum physicists as well as composers and artists from around the world. The continually shifting result is sometimes profound, sometimes poetic, sometimes absurd but almost always a surprise. This exhibition made possible with support from Sony Corporation. Main Gallery
