Statement of Purpose:

The nation's oldest museum dedicated to the history and culture of Africans and African Americans. View an extensive collection of paintings, sculpture, textiles, and historical memorabilia. Enjoy a variety of activities including workshops, tours, lectures and performing arts programs in our new Harold Washington Wing.
