Featured on A&E's "America's Castles", Chinqua-Penn Plantation is a 27-room English mansion built in the mid 1920's with an extensive global collection.
It is a National Register Site surrounded by a 22 acre Historic Landscape with gardens, pagoda, greenhouses, fountains and clock tower.
A 27-room mansion (1925) is surrounded by 22 acres of historic landscape.
Explore the extensive global collection dating from 1600 B.C. to the 1960's. The historic landscape contains 1928 Lutton Greenhouses, perennial gardens, rose gardens, fountains, Oriental pagoda and clock tower.
The house contains the premier collection of eclectic decorative arts in North Carolina. Very extensive Oriental and religious (multi-culture) collection.
Chinqua-Penn Plantation is currently closed to the
public.

Surrounding the house and gardens is the Upper Piedmont Research Station, a working farm that is actually part of Chinca-Penn Plantation. Tours are available.

Take the NC Highway 14 exit on U.S. 29 by-pass and follow signs.
Halfway between Danville, VA and Greensboro, NC, off US 29.
