Statement of Purpose:

The Museum presents permanent and changing exhibitions of historical and contemporary fine art in 6 permanent galleries.

The Museum is open to the general public and serves the academic community of the State University of new York.

Highlights:

3,500 items of 20th century artworks.

The Museum is home to the Rockwell Kent Gallery and Collection. There is a permanent exhibition of the art of Rockwell Kent and other artists from an extensive permanent collection.

The Sculpture Park, Burke Gallery and Myers Lobby Gallery host a year round schedule of changing exhibits. The Winkel Sculpture Court is the permanent home of the largest space dedicated to a single woman artist in the U.S.

Tours available. A large Docent contigent.

Major Collections:
Rockwell Kent, James Fitzgerald, Nina Winkel. Asian, Tribal, 19th and 20th century, Inuit, Decorative Glass, Furniture.

Exhibits:

Rockwell Kent collection. Nina Winkell Sculpture court.

Paintings, drawings, graphic arts and decorative arts of Rockwell Kent.

Sculpture of Nina Winkel.The Slatkin Glass Collection.

New aquisitions, special exhibition of prints donated by Monis Schuster through the London Arts Gallery, Detroit; prints from Moonkosh Press, a gift from the Norton Family and Student Association Aquisitions.

Directions:

I 87 to exit 37, Plattsburgh. Follow signs to "SUNY". Located between Rugar and Broad Street on the Campus of the state university of New York.

One hour south of Montreal, 6 hours north of New York City and 4-1/2 hrs west of Boston.

Plattsburgh is a transportation hub for rail, air, and bus.

Rockwell Kent Gallery is in the Feinberg Library.

Burke Gallery, Winkel Sculpture Court, Slatkin Study Room and the Myers Lobby Gallery are in the Myers Fine Arts Bldg.

The Sculpture Park is between these 2 bldgs.

Admissions: Free. Donations accepted

Hours: Daily, noon to 4 pm, except Holidays
