Experience Pack Place!

The vibrant centerpiece of downtown Asheville, this bustling complex includes The Asheville Art Museum, The Colburn Earth Science Museum, The Diana Wortham Theatre, The Health Adventure, and the  YMI Cultural Center. An Asheville landmark, Pack Place also offers meeting rooms and creative spaces for hosting special events.  Pack Place is the place for everyone!


Exhibits:

The Asheville Art Museum offers visitors exciting experiences with 20th Century American art. The Museum features some of the century's best known artists and the creativity of Western North Carolina and the Southeast region. www.ashevilleart.org

The Health Adventure hosts eleven galleries filled with unique hands-on exhibits that offer fun and educational learning opportunities for kids ages 2 to 102. Learn about your body, exercise your mind, and expand your imagination! www.thehealthadventure.org

The Diana Wortham Theatre is a 500+ seat theatre that affords a dramatic and sophisticated, acoustically perfect setting for a diverse range of local, regional and national performers. www.dwtheatre.com

The Colburn Earth Science Museum (formerly the Colburn Gem & Mineral Museum) allows you to explore the rich treasures of the earth at this museum called "a mini Smithsonian of Gems" by the Washington Post. See the fantastic shapes and colors of minerals from around the world, be dazzled by brilliant gemstones, and discover the vast hidden treasures that lay beneath the North Carolina soil! www.colburnmuseum.org

The YMI Cultural Center is a National Historic Landmark that links past and present. Commissioned by Vanderbilt in 1803, this former Young Men's Institute now classes, performances programs and exhibits on African American art and culture. www.ymicc.org

Hours:

10 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Closed Mondays.
Also open Sundays 1 pm to 5 pm.

Directions:

From Interstate 240 take exit 5A (Merrimon Avenue) and follow the signs for Highway 25 South for three blocks to Pack Square.

From Interstate 40 take exit 50 (Highway 25/South Asheville) and continue on Highway 25 North through Biltmore Village for three miles.
