Statement of Purpose:

Landis Valley Museum is a nationally known museum that collects, conserves, exhibits, and interprets Pennsylvania German material culture and heritage between 1750 and 1940.

Highlights:

Living history demonstrations, craftspeople, exhibit buildings including original farmstead, Heirloom Seed Program, historically accurate rare breeds of farm animals and special events.

Collections:

Buildings, landscapes and plants, animals, research, library, and archives. Significant artifact collections: scherenschnitte, fraktur, quilts and coverlets, decorated tin (toleware), spinning and weaving equipment, flax and wool processing implements, blacksmith shop and tools, redware and stoneware, wooden folk carvings, extensive collection of farming implements, cookie cutters, lighting implements, photography, leatherworking, decorative iron, printed broadsides, furniture, Pennsylvania rifles, toys and dolls.

Monday-Saturday     9:00AM-5:00PM
Sunday                      Noon-5:00PM

Closed January & February, Holidays (except Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day)

Landis Valley Museum is located 2.5 miles north of Lancaster, PA, On Route 272 (Oregon Pike). A marked exit from both Rt. 30 and Rt. 222.
