Statement of Purpose:

Stamford Museum & Nature Center is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of art, the natural and agricultural sciences, and history. The Museum is a vital cultural and educational resource for the community, and a focal point for family activity and interaction, seeking to inspire creativity, foster self-discovery, and nurture an appreciation for lifelong learning through exhibitions, educational programs, and special events that enhance the visitor’s experience on its unique site.

Highlights & Collections:

Changing exhibitions of contemporary art; group shows; outdoor sculpture garden; annual competition for Connecticut artists. Collection of 19th and 20th century paintings, sculpture and graphics.

Animal Embassy on Heckscher Farm – Home to exotic birds, reptiles and amphibians. Open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. in summer).
