Statement of Purpose:
The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is a private,
non-profit educational institution focusing on natural history and dedicated to
fostering public appreciation, knowledge and wise stewardship of the Sonoran
Desert region.
The mission of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is to inspire people to
live in harmony with the natural world by fostering love, appreciation,
and understanding of the Sonoran Desert.
Highlights:
Called by the New York Times "...the most distinctive zoo in the United States," the Desert Museum is southern Arizona's most popular visitor attraction. Nestled in Tucson Mountain Park, 14 miles west of downtown Tucson, the Desert Museum exhibits the
living, outdoor world of nature found in the Sonoran Desert region.

Hours:
- The Desert Museum is open every day of the year.
- October through February: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- March through September: 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
MAY THROUGH SEPTEMBER, SATURDAYS ONLY: 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Admission:
- Adults (ages 13 and over): $8.95
- Children ages 6 through 12: $1.75
- Children under age 6: free
- Yearly memberships are also available.
