The Mission of the Discovery Museum is to serve as a major educational resource which presents art and physical science and their interrelationship with an emphasis on participatory exhibits
The Discovery Museum seeks to enhance public understanding of the visual arts by providing instructive experiences through visitor interaction with distinctive participatory art exhibits, traditional fine art galleries, the collections and interpretive programs
The Discovery Museum seeks to enhance public understanding of the physical sciences by providing instructive experience through participant interaction with hands-on physical science exhibits, Planetarium programs, the Challenger Learning Center and interpretive programs.
Daily planetarium shows, art exhibits and a see, hear, touch hands-on experience on three fun-filled floors including the newly added weekend attraction of Virtual Basketball.
The Henry B. duPont III Planetarium runs shows daily for pre-schoolers and for school age and above. The Challenger Learning Center provides a wonderful learning experience for groups. The Hands-On Galleries feature exhibits about space, light, magnets, computers and the all new Virtual Basketball.
American art, both historic and contemporary, with an emphasis on regional art and particularly that of Connecticut.
