Statement of Purpose:

The Carnegie Museum of Natural History documents the diversity of the world by collecting, preserving, interpreting and exhibiting objects from the natural world and human cultural heritage.

The Carnegie Museum of Natural History is world-famous for its Dinosaur Hall. We have a rich and diverse collection of permanent and temporary exhibits. There's lots to see and touch and do--for all ages! New life-sized dinosaur sculpture, "Dippy", welcomes visitors on Forbes Avenue in front of the museum. Spend the whole day or a few hours.

Visit our gift store and the Fossil Fuel cafe. Housed in the same building as the world-class Carnegie Museum of Art.

The Carnegie Museum of Natural History has many major collections. Please visit our museum or browse the "research" section of our website.
